The crescent moon swirls above tree tops,
village roofs and the church steeple;
a night song she sweetly sings
with bright stars chiming in
while the nightingale’s
love call softly
enters my
sleep and
dreams.

This is another interesting piece of form poetry, nonet, that I’ve learnt, Yesterday I was presented a Fibonacci poem form, from Jane Basil, of makingitwrite. Also very interesting. And thank you Irina, for your “nonet” today.

Glad you enjoyed this form, Ivor. It’s exciting to learn new poetic forms. I was introduced to the Fibonacci form a few years ago. Here is one for Australia Day: https://irinadim.com/2017/01/26/australia-day-26-january-2017/

A lovely post, Irina – a combination of wonderful music, beautiful imagery in your poem, and colourful and meaningful artwork. The nonet is an interesting form and I love what you have created here. I can almost hear that nightingale sing.

Thanks for your lovely comment, Millie. I’m happy to hear I managed to conjure up the impression the music and the painting had made on me.

Chopin certainly understood the fine vibrations of a human soul.
I looked at your post yesterday and I read the poem, but I was so short of time I couldn’t leave my comment. It is a very delicate poem and it softly touches everybody else, as well. Great lines.

Brilliant! In fact, I just uploaded a ‘Nonet’ of my own onto my blog. It’s linked below. I’d love it if you would have a look over it and leave me some tips on how to improve. I’m sure I could learn a lot from you. I hope you like it!
