Sunday Trees – 424 – Spotted Gum

https://beccagivens.wordpress.com/2019/12/29/sunday-trees-424/

Spotted gum,  an endemic Australian tree, is one of my favourites.  Its bark creates artwork that no artist can match. Well, that’s just my humble opinion. 🙂

Some close-ups…

I was tempted to peel off some of the bark… 🙂

It’s heartbreaking to watch on TV the raging bushfires across Australia destroying not only these beautiful trees, but also wild life and human properties. Spare a thought for everyone affected by this disaster, especially the heroic fire fighters . <)

Happy New Year everyone! And stay safe if you live in Australia in areas affected by the bushfires! ❤

Thank you for sharing this beautiful song, Ivor. Those of us who live in safe areas can only pray… New Year’s Eve was terrible and this coming Saturday is predicted to be even worse. I’ve been listening to talk back radio, people are being instructed to leave their properties now and move to safer areas.

Irina — I tried to reply earlier today but for some reason, it would not take. I love the unique creative masterpiece of each tree’s bark markings. Lifting prayers for Australia’s scorching wildfires to be contained soon; and for wildlife, nature, people and their surroundings. May your new year overflow with an abundance of blessings. Thank you for sharing your first Sunday Tree.

Beautiful tree. It looks like some one painted it then turned it into a collage.
I’ve never seen a tree like this before. Thanks for sharing.
My condolences on the forest fires.

Yes our gum trees are majestic and create their own art … but they also add to the current fire danger as they act like inflamants 🙂

    Take care, where are you?
