Spotted gum, an endemic Australian tree, is one of my favourites. Its bark creates artwork that no artist can match. Well, that’s just my humble opinion. 🙂
I was tempted to peel off some of the bark… 🙂
It’s heartbreaking to watch on TV the raging bushfires across Australia destroying not only these beautiful trees, but also wild life and human properties. Spare a thought for everyone affected by this disaster, especially the heroic fire fighters . <)
Happy New Year everyone! And stay safe if you live in Australia in areas affected by the bushfires! ❤

you neither chirp nor tweet.
Your laughter is much like mine,
my cackle is much like thine.
We are two sister souls,
one clad in feathers,
the other in clothes.

Yes our spotted gum trees are truly Beautiful Irina…. But again today our bushfires have been horrendous….. were in for a tough New Year….. I’ve been playing this song tonightand looking to stars for help…… Happy New Year Irina..
Thank you for sharing this beautiful song, Ivor. Those of us who live in safe areas can only pray… New Year’s Eve was terrible and this coming Saturday is predicted to be even worse. I’ve been listening to talk back radio, people are being instructed to leave their properties now and move to safer areas.
It’s all very traumatic and sad Irina, We just prayer for the safety of all those involved.. xx
It’s really a beautiful tree. Thank you for sharing those photos, and Happy New Year to you.
My pleasure, Bill. Thank you for appreciating this beautiful tree.
That is truly a stunning tree! I’ve never seen one.
I hope all the best for everyone in Australia, and all the animals.
❦🎉❦Happy New Year!❦🎉❦
Thank you so much, Resa. Australia has lovely trees. There are snow gums with lovely colourful bark in the Snowy Mountains. They are now on fire.
Yet, many money makers are in denial of global warming.
Irina — I tried to reply earlier today but for some reason, it would not take. I love the unique creative masterpiece of each tree’s bark markings. Lifting prayers for Australia’s scorching wildfires to be contained soon; and for wildlife, nature, people and their surroundings. May your new year overflow with an abundance of blessings. Thank you for sharing your first Sunday Tree.
Thank you, Becca, for your lovely comment and for your prayers for Australia. ❤
Beautiful tree. It looks like some one painted it then turned it into a collage.
I’ve never seen a tree like this before. Thanks for sharing.
My condolences on the forest fires.
My pleasure, and thank you for condolences.
The good news is nature will make a come back. Unfortunately it will take longer for humans.
Yes our gum trees are majestic and create their own art … but they also add to the current fire danger as they act like inflamants 🙂
Take care, where are you?
Alas, it’s not a perfect world… I live in Sydney, near the sea. Are you safe ?
ah I’m just out of Lismore and quite safe thanks but my family is down south but not in that hot centre thanks heavens
