A rose.
A rose is a rose is a rose is a rose.
A shrivelled rose is a shrivelled rose is a shrivelled rose.
Which is sad, very sad, very very sad.
You see
It is true, very true, so true, always true;
It is true because it is so true;
It is so true because it is so.
Repeat.
Repeat what?
Repeat repeat repeat: it it it repeat!
It it it it it it it it it it it it it it it it it !
There. You see?
Yes, of course, I’m a shrivelled rose.

Kookaburra sweet,
you neither chirp nor tweet.
Your laughter is much like mine,
my cackle is much like thine.
We are two sister souls,
one clad in feathers,
the other in clothes.

“A rose is a rose is a rose is a rose”…
Oh the mystery of the Rose…. I can’t avoid quoting Umberto Eco’s book “The Name of The Rose”> “Stat rosa pristina nomine, nomina nuda tenemus”, which translates to english as: “The primordial rose abides only in its name; we hold names stripped”~
Big hugs and all the best to you, dear Irina, Aquileana 😀
Thanks for this thought-provoking quote by Umberto Eco. I haven’t read his book.
Thanks for commenting, dear Aquileana. Hugs 🙂 Irina
Ohhh this is a playful one, indeed!! I like it 🙂
Thanks, Christy. I had a lot of fun writing it, inspired by Gertrude Stein’s poem ‘A rose is a rose is a rose’.
Poor poor rose
