Fear – Second Version (SunWinks! October 19, 2014: Metaphor)

I can hear the angry wasps
Buzzing around

And the stampede of the wildebeest
Through the savannah

With the lions and cheetahs
In wait, ready to pounce

I can see the parched earth
Gaping – ready to swallow me

I can smell the burning trees
Ready to embrace me

And a flock of
Hungry vultures
Descending

Gasping for air
I turn into
A stump!
